Worship from the Place of Presence
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.â€
(Romans 12:1-2 NIV
The first statement Paul makes is one of true identity.
To offer my body as a living sacrifice is, as worded in the Mirror Translation, to —“live consistent with who you really areâ€â€”or to “BE†who God is continually creating me to be. This is “true and proper worshipâ€
To me this speaks of “Living from the Place of Presence.†Or, again, as the Mirror Translation says: “He (God) desires to find visible, individual expression in your person.â€
The Lord desires to find Himself made known in who I AM! This is “Worshipâ€.
I invite you to listen to this meditation out of Romans 12:1-2 (“Worship from the Place of Presence”)
