Unto Us a Son is Given

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

In these days of such turmoil and unrest, we can learn much from the Name that is above all others. For His Name not only reveals to us who He is, but what He offers each and every one of us from the heart of the Father.

He is Wonder-filled, all the creative expressions and holy imaginations wrapped in the Wonder of His Presence. He is Counselor, offering divine Wisdom in an age of deception and confusion to all who draw near. He is Mighty God, bringing overwhelming confidence and strength that destroys all fear. He is Prince of Peace, for it is His peace He gives us always speaking over us, “Do not be afraid!” And, I believe all these revelations of His Name are wrapped in this one–He is Everlasting, Eternal Father. All the wonder, wisdom, strength, peace; in short, life abundant wrapped in an intimate relationship of life eternal.

The eternal call is clear. “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to Me. Draw near, do not be afraid. Simply come and find in Me Love.”

God is not interested in your religion, your politics, your prestige, popularity or accomplishments. He is interested only in you. His heart is ravished with love for you.
