Transitional Time in the Promises of God
“O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.” (Psalm 16:5-6)
We are in an accelerating time in which the Spirit of the Lord is bringing to ‘full term’ the dreams, desires and hopes we’ve been nurturing within us. As we approach ‘Rosh Hashanah’, the head of the new year on the Jewish calendar (September 20, 2017), it’s important that we prepare the place for the Coming of Desire. I believe this is a ‘transitional’ time in the promises of God.
Just as there are different, progressive stages in natural childbirth, so too in the spiritual birthing of God. There’s Latent (early) labor, Active labor, and finally Transitional which is the last, most intensive phase of labor. Many of us have already gone through the seasons of latent and active labor in which we’ve felt the movement and the increasing excitement of expectancy. But, we’ve not yet held in our hands what we’ve been carrying deep inside.
Those first stages are now at an end. We’ve been brought to the stage of ‘transition’. In this stage, our focus is on one thing—delivery, the birthing of the promises of God.
I believe Isaiah 54:1-3 has real impact in this stage:
“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord. Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations, and make the desolate cities inhabited.â€
What you have held in your heart you will hold in your hands by the supernatural power of God.
I hear the Lord say:
“Am I the God who brings to the point of delivering only to close and seal the womb? NO, for I am the Lord of abundant life, of provision over and above all dreams and desires. And, I have brought you to your appointed time. This is the day of delivery and the birthing of destiny. I am the God of JOYFUL BIRTHING, so rejoice!
“Abandon yourself to Me in this final stage, cast yourself upon Me holding nothing back for I tell you plainly, what I created in you, and you have nurtured and longed to hold is being brought forth in glory. I give you nations as an inheritance, and you shall make what was desolate a place filled with life. All, this and more I am bringing forth through you.â€
I believe it will be good to make Psalm 16:5-6 a focus of prayer during this transitional stage. This will be an intense time. But, it also will be short. For we are in the accelerating time of the Lord, bring us to full term and delivery.
