Sitting in the Shade of God’s Presence

“Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down in his shade with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.” (Song of Songs 2:3)

My heart is stirred by these words. I am awakened to their beauty like a man waking from deep sleep to a glorious sunlit day. This is my deepest desire—to be found in You, my Lord.

Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about ascending to the Pinnacles of Praise upon the Mountain of Worship. David asked, “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He then gave the answer–“This is…the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.” (see Psalm 24:3-6) The desire for the greater things of God is awakened in us through the Blood of the Lamb and is the heart of our identity and purpose. But, there’s only one way to get there.

There’s a direct correlation between ascension and intimacy with the Lord.

The truth is that I turn so quickly away from Lord to embrace the things of this world. I choose the barren land of shallow feelings and empty pleasures, and in doing so am separated from the Great Delight, from the Fruitful Place of God’s Presence. Jesus warned His disciples to be vigilant, for: “…the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41) How about you? Can you relate?

All that is about to change.

Holy Spirit has shown me that we’ve entered the season of Purification and the Restoration of Intimate Encounters. The Bless of God is about to be poured out upon the Church. This Bless is directly tied to the depth of our yielding to the Lordship of the Spirit. Those who offer themselves up as living sacrifices, who make it their one desire to seek the face of the Lord, will enter into the Flames of Yah, and in the Fire be restored to First Love, and shall be called “Lovers of God”.

These are those who Ascend the Hill of the Lord. These are the sons and daughters who climb the Mountain of Worship and stand on the Pinnacles of Miracle Praise!

“Awaken and rise up! Come back into your Beloved, return to your first Love and be filled with joy in His Presence!”

“You are like an apple tree among the trees of the woods—the very Tree of Life, the place of Fresh Fruit, of Delightful Pleasures and Eternal Sustenance!”

“How delightful is Your Fruit! How sweet is the taste of Your Kisses!”

“How intoxicating the Fragrance of Your Breath, so close, so tender!”

“How refreshing and renewing is the Shade of Your Presence!”
“How delightful is Your Love, my King!”
“There is nothing I desire more than to experience You in an ever deepening, ever increasing way!”

I declare this new season will be a time of ever increasing awareness of the Intimate Presence of the Lord in your life. And, out of this Intimate Place you shall rise, and ascend the hill of the Lord to stand upon the Pinnacle of Miracle Praise. And, you shall release the Song of the Redeemed-the Song of Love!

Holy Spirit, bring us into the Secret Place and overshadow us with Your Love.

Cause a great Joy to rise up within us, release the Joyful Sound deep in our hearts, fill us with the good things of Your Kingdom!
But most of all

Inflame our hearts with the Flames of Ecstasy! O my Lord, lift us in the rising Heatwave of Love’s Burning!

O God, consume us in the Fire Your Love! Then my King, resurrect us out of the Holy Flames and bring us forth, a reflection of Your Glory, to release our Song of Love!
