One Glance of Your Eyes

“You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;

    You have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.”

(Song of Songs 4:9)

    How awesome is the love that God has for us. It is beyond our ability to grasp or even imagine. These words above speak of this love. The word “stolen” means to be conquered, thrown down violently and taken. This is the heart of God for us!

    It is one thing to acknowledge that God loves us. It is something far more powerful to experience His all-consuming love in the manner revealed by the Spirit in the verses above. How different our lives become when we move from religious belief to personal experience!
