I am with You Always
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?â€
(Psalm 139:7)
“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.†(Psalm 42:11)
One of the foundational doctrines of the Church is the Omnipresence of God, the belief that He is always and everywhere present. Not only did everything that exists in the universe come out of Him; but, all is dependent upon His continuing creative impulse, His Voice, His Presence. We are because He is; and, there is nowhere we can go in the vast universe where He is not already and immediately here. “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?†cried David, giving voice to what is a deep knowing of the soul. We are not alone.
It is precisely this reality that has fueled the image I’ve been pondering lately of the Sound of Heaven-the vast, unfathomable ocean of frequencies at the subatomic level in which everything in the universe lives, moves, and has its being. This ‘Sound’ is the life of God, and as we awaken to it, or the more we tune to it, the more we experience the Presence of the Lord in our daily lives. And this, my friends, is where the majority of us struggle in many ways.
Cause and Effect
The writer of Psalm 42:11 gives voice to this struggle: “Why are you downcast, O my soul?†He speaks of being ‘downcast’, a word meaning to be “cast or thrown downâ€. A violent word that carries the emphasis of being worried, upset, troubled, discouraged, depressed in spirit. It is a word of dis-ease and is fueled, in large part, by our deep seated religious mindset that the experience of God’s presence is tied somehow to time and space. Heaven is a separate place and God comes from there to help us when we are in need, or to meet with us during times of prayer and worship at certain places like churches, synagogues, and the like. This mindset restricts our conscious contact with God to isolated moments, and in between those moments there is the uneasy feeling we are left to ourselves.
What’s Really Going On
This, of course, is not true. Our feeling of separation from God is an illusion fueled by generations of religious training. But, certainly, something is going on that is generating that feeling, and what it is can be seen again in Psalm 42:11 as the writer goes on to ask the question of his soul, “Why so disturbed within me?†The key, I believe, is in the word, ‘disturbed’. It plays off the word, ‘downcast’, meaning “to be affected by disturbance.†This disturbance is literally, “noise, clamor, disorder.†and speaks to something deep within the unseen realm of frequencies. Our feelings of fear, worry, anxiety, and the like are not the result of actual separation from God; but, from a misalignment with Him. In fact, this misalignment not only affects how we feel-our ‘dis-ease’; but, is at the root of all physical manifestations of ‘disease’. In other words, the powerful disturbance in the unseen realm of frequencies affects us not only in the nonphysical area of soul; but, in the physical areas of our bodies as well. The question is, what are we to do about it?
Re-tuning
In Romans, chapter twelve we find a statement by the Apostle Paul that reveals not only the solution to the struggle; but, also his words are a prophetic revelation of what is happening in this day of Great Awakening. He writes:
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.†(Rom. 12:2)
Paul speaks of not conforming to the world’s pattern. It’s common to think of this statement as a call to avoid worldly behavior; but to do so misses his point completely. We can look really good on the outside, but inside be just as ‘disturbed’ as the rest of the world because the ‘pattern’ Paul wrote about was not about physical behavior; but, about alignment in the realm of the Spirit. Simply, how we live on the outside is governed by what we resonate with on the inside. The pattern really is the movement of energy according to the frequencies of the Sound of Heaven; and, by speaking of the pattern of the world, Paul is talking about the disturbance in frequencies caused by the enemy as he stirs the waters at the surface of the ocean of our existence. Remember, Satan creates nothing; but, he will cause whatever disturbance he can so as to get our focus away from the source of abundant life that is experienced deep within the heart of God.
All our diseases and dis-eases rest in the fact that we are focusing on and resonating with the pattern of this world system that is filled with distortion and noise. That is why there must be an inner renewal, a realignment in the spiritual realm.
As I’ve said before, we are created within a sphere of influence in the Sound of Heaven to live from a place of intimacy with God. This intimacy deepens, growing stronger and more glorious, the closer in alignment we are to Him, or the more we are in tune and resonate with the sound of His Voice. The result is an increasing experience of the Presence of the Lord in daily life, which is an abundant life of health and prosperity. Notice Paul’s words here: “Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.†That’s what I’m talking about.
And, that is what is happening in this hour. The Blood-redeemed Bride is awakening! There is a turning away from the turmoil and turbulence of the world system to return to her rightful place in the Beloved. There is a Sound being released, a call deep within:
“Arise, come, My darling; My beautiful one, come with Me.†“For in the Secret Place of My abiding Presence is your life-whole, perfect, holy and blameless before Me. Here in this place of My Flaming Love you not only hear My voice and see My face; but, now are being transformed into My Glory.†“And, I will send you forth before Me into this world to be the glorious reflection of My Presence before all men.†“Arise, come, My darling; my beautiful one, come with Me.â€
