The Hunger and Thirst Within
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God.“
I keep coming back to these words. They are like a fire in my bones, like a lamp for my feet lighting the path before me. They are what burns deep within and drive me into the place of longing. I hold them close because they are a constant reminder of where all my desires rest, and the deep well from which my hope rises.
Every dream, every desire originates in the deep waters of the love of God. He has always known us and has created us to be a reflection of His love. This happens as we enter into an ever deepening place of intimacy with Him, and co-create with Him through our dreams and desires.
To help make this happen, God places a hunger and thirst within us to go deep into His Presence. The more infused we are with God, the stronger the release of our desires. In other words, what we hold in our hearts we begin to hold in our hands.
This infusion must be cultivated. Intimacy with God doesn’t happen on its own; but, through a continuing process of engagement and a deepening desire to experience God’s Presence in tangible ways throughout our daily lives.
We have entered a new season. A time of Great Awakening is here. Now is the time when Holy Spirit is turning up the heat within, the burning of the eternal Flame of Yah, to burn away all the impurities within and conform us to His image. God is looking for ‘sons’ who will submit to this burning. These are the ones who are led by the Spirit. These are the ones being revealed in this season of Awakening.
Holy Spirit is saying, “Listen to your heart, Beloved, “pay attention, for I am stirring up embers on the Altar. I am fanning into flame the desires of your heart so that you will hunger and thirst for more of Me.”
“As you draw nearer to Me, you will see and hear more clearly than you ever have before. You will find the patterns you once followed falling away.” “These old patterns were of the world and not of Me. They only served to distract you and distort your vision, your reality. Now, they are losing their control; for, the deeper into Me you come, the stronger and more powerful the Heavenly Pattern becomes.” “This is the pattern that releases you into your destiny.”
“Therefore,” says the Spirit, “let your hunger and thirst drive you deep into Me. You will become strong. You will become Light to the world, the reflection of My Glory.”
