A Matter of Frequencies, Part 2

Matter of Frequency part 2

“So, what’s the big deal about frequencies?” A friend asked me that question. Like many, the subject of frequencies doesn’t enter his thoughts; and, when it is brought up there doesn’t seem to be any relevance to daily life, unless of course one is a scientist or sound engineer. Now my friend is curious and does want to know more. Others, especially in the church, are much more negative. Any idea of energy and frequency in relationship to God is usually dismissed as New Age weirdness or cult deception.

That is changing. More and more Blood-redeemed believers are awakening to how vital the realm of energy and frequency is to our deepening understanding of the Eternal Realm of God and its powerful influence in our lives. There is a shifting of paradigm as Holy Spirit is opening our eyes to see that the reality of infinite frequencies and their importance in all that exists is not only scientifically proven fact, but is completely biblical.

“For in Him we live and move and exist…” (Acts 17:28)

Paul is speaking of the Eternal Realm. It is not a flesh and bone, earthly realm but one fully alive in energy and frequency far beyond our full understanding in this life. But, it is not out of our reach for the Eternal Realm is where we already are.

A definition is in order here. Frequencies are defined as, “The number of times that a periodic function or vibration repeats itself in a specific time, often 1 second. It is usually measured in hertz.” Hertz is the unit of frequency named for Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, the first person to discover electromagnetic waves. Such things as electricity and electromagnetic radiation are measured in hertz. But here’s what fascinates me. The most common uses of this measurement (hertz) is in the description of sine waves and musical tones, as well as speeds at which computers and other devices handle data internally. I see it this way–sound and light.

“The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord is over the waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the Lord is majestic.” (Psalm 29:3-4)

These verses are so familiar that we run the risk of missing the power of their truth: God speaks! He speaks as certainly as any person speaks. He has a voice as real and tangible to the listening ear as our own voice and that of those around us. What is a voice? Sound, which is energy (breath) moving upon vocal chords producing vibrations emitting frequencies so as to be discernible.  God is speaking and inviting us to listen. Herein lies a problem, we don’t listen very well. That is true in every day life. How often is the phrase used, “Are you listening to me?” How often do we find ourselves confessing, “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear a word you said.” Listening is really a function of ‘tuning in’ to the frequencies we want to hear. We routinely tune in or tune out depending on where we’re at or how we feel at any given moment. If that is true in our purely human interactions, how much more so when it comes to the voice of the Lord? Anyway, the fact is that the Voice of God is every bit an issue of energy and frequency.

“For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Cor. 2:16)

The context of Paul’s statement is the contrast between human wisdom of the one without the Spirit and the spiritual realities known by those who have the Spirit. We have the mind of Christ. Simply going back to our definition will help clarify where I’m going here. Because of our union with God, we have the capacity to handle the ‘data’ of eternal realities at speeds and a depth far beyond any earthbound wisdom. Holy Spirit, who is wisdom and revelation (Eph. 1:17) releases revelation of the eternal realm and opens us to wisdom (the handling correctly of the heavenly data) in the mysteries of God.

I used the word, ‘light’ earlier. I am speaking of ‘illumination’ or ‘enlightenment’. In Ephesians 1:18 we find Paul praying that the eyes of our hearts would be ‘enlightened’ so that we will know more and more the richness of God’s Kingdom. That word, ‘enlightened’, means to come into a place of consciousness, particularly a deepening consciousness of God. So, just as God is inviting us to listen, to hear His voice clearly and distinctly; so too, is He inviting us to know what He’s thinking, to come ever more deeply into His confidence. Just as He desires to talk with us, He also wants to share His thoughts with us.

What an awesome invitation! Sound and Light—Word speaking and mind receiving. The beauty of all this is that we don’t need to go far to take hold of these treasures of God’s heart. After all, in Him we live and move and FULLY exist.
